The etymology of the word "Changal" comes from mythology. "Chan" comes from the word baby. The stomach is the fertility cavity for said baby. And the word "gal" comes from the word "Mananangal." Meaning to remove. Together, it means remove the baby. Bae.. Remove me baby. This dish consist of roasted pork side that has been sauced with several seasonings. It is wrapped with an eggplant and then a cornstarch wrapper. These are then grilled. A Changal is a new way to have grilled food. "Changal" are served with grilled meat along with an eggplant and a pastry of cornstarch wrapper that is further grilled.
